DTF injected itself into the industry by offering high-end head-to-head virtual gaming platforms and theaters to companies in trade show environments helping to dramatically increase traffic and exposure for clients. The company flourished and was contracted to create a custom mobile Virtual Reality Theater which toured the country for Lego. Digital Tech frontier was the first to ever animate Legos in the digital (CG) realm. Thus was born V-Ride the Mobile Virtual Reality entertainment venue customizable in an almost unlimited number of ways for a seemingly unlimited clientele. This Experience toured the country appearing at a range of venues from International Auto Shows to small corporate parties inciting smiles and excitement across the nation. DTF, soon afterward, stepped into the world of medicine with a number of experiential systems. One product was an immersive relaxation therapy system for patients undergoing chemotherapy. The unit was shown to improved recovery rates and comfort levels of cancer patients while giving them something to look forward to enjoying. DTF has manufactured many custom experiences for a number of other fortune 500 companies like Nokia, IBM, Global Crossing and AT&T to site just a few, creating virtual experiences from sight, sound and smell system kiosks to fully immersive NASCAR racing simulators and a mega-sized mobile 20 seat virtual reality motion theater platform. In 2001, a grant from the state of Arkansas tasked DTF to prove the effectiveness of virtual reality in education. Proof came in the form of the "Educational Reality System (ERS)" built for the Lamar School District soon afterward. The creation of the ERS spawned the Virtual Vacations series titles and eventually the Virtual Reality Development Lab as it is today. We are thankful for the opportunity to contribute to the educational community with the Virtual Reality Development Lab Authoring Studio. Evolution of the VRDL has continued for nearly 3 years and is currently the most comprehensive authoring tool for VR on the market today. The VRDL is touted as the only turn-key VR authoring studio that offers an unlimited number of possibilities while remaining simple enough for a 10 year old to develop tours on her own. We sincerely believe the VRDL will continue to bring a technological advantage to the students educational experience while generating excitement to the offering of real world skills.
